Purpose:
The Director of Operations-Produced Water Handling leads XRI’s water transfer operations, saltwater disposal facilities, and pipeline infrastructure across the Permian and Delaware Basins. This senior, hands-on role is responsible for the safe, reliable, compliant, and profitable execution of all Midstream water logistics and SWD activities. The Director sets operational standards, leads and develops field teams, supports commercial execution, and ensures customer commitments are delivered without compromise to safety, environmental stewardship, or performance. This role requires deep technical expertise, strong people leadership, and the ability to manage operational risk, cost control, and customer relationships.

This role requires deep technical expertise, strong people leadership, and the ability to manage operational risk, cost control, and customer relationships.
Role/Responsibilities:
- Own end-to-end execution of all Midstream and SWD operations across assigned regions, including pre-job planning, staffing, equipment readiness, rig-up, hose and pump layout, pressure management, pumping operations, monitoring, troubleshooting, and rig-down.
- Ensure all Midstream and SWD operations are designed and executed to meet required flow rates, pressures, and uptime while protecting personnel, equipment, and the environment.
- Collaborate and work closely with Engineering to maximize the profitability of assets and systems and operate from prepared water balances
- Establish, enforce, and continuously improve standard operating procedures for Midstream and SWD operations, including rig-up, operation, troubleshooting, and rig-down.
- Lead investigations and root-cause analysis for incidents, leaks, downtime events, near-misses, and customer complaints, and drive corrective and preventive actions.
- Serve as the senior operational interface for key customers.
- Protect customer confidence by ensuring work is executed exactly as committed, including rate, uptime, safety, and professionalism.
- Participate in customer meetings, pre-job planning sessions, post-job reviews, and issue resolution when performance or commercial disputes arise.
- Own key operational performance metrics including uptime, leak incidents, non-productive time, crew productivity, and job profitability.
- Control labor, equipment utilization, maintenance practices, and operating costs to protect margins and scalability.
- Provide regular reporting to executive leadership on operational performance, risks, and continuous improvement opportunities.
- Provide leadership and accountability to staff by setting clear expectations, monitoring performance, and addressing issues promptly and consistently.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering is preferred: equivalent combination of experience will be considered.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in water transfer operations.
- Demonstrated leadership of multi-crew, multi-site water transfer operations in the Permian and Delaware Basin.
- Knowledge of industry standards and processes; Deep technical knowledge of pumps, hose, automation and control systems, hydraulic calculations, and pressure management.
- Proven track record of executing complex, high-risk frac support operations safely and reliably.
- Experience managing customer relationships at both the field and management levels.
- Strong understanding of operational risk, environmental exposure, and cost control in frac and water logistics operations.
- Must have Computer Skills (MS Office- Word, Excel).
- Ability to work outdoors in harsh field conditions, including extreme heat, cold, and inclement weather.
- Ability to walk on uneven terrain, climb around equipment, and lift up to 50 lbs. as required during job site visits.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
