Purpose: 
The Engineering Technician plays a key role in supporting the engineering team through a blend of technical, analytical, and administrative responsibilities. This position is responsible for driving accurate reporting, project tracking, data analysis, and cross-functional coordination to support efficient operations and informed decision-making across the organization. The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, analytical, proactive, and thrives in a fast-paced environment managing multiple priorities.

This is an in-person position based in Midland, TX working closely with leadership and operational teams to support critical business initiatives.

Role/Responsibilities:
  • Generate weekly and monthly reports to track production, project performance and ensure data accuracy.
  • Extract, analyze, and report data from internal systems including Power BI, Perygee, TXRRC, NMOCD, and Enverus/B3. 
  • Develop cost estimates and prepare basic AFE’s (Authorization for Expenditure).
  • Manage purchase order requisitions for capital and land projects in compliance with internal guidelines.
  • Track field tickets and assist with invoicing processes.
  • Support and/or complete monthly field operation ticket audits.
  • Communicate issues, risks, and concerns proactively to management.
  • Collaborate with engineering, accounting, and procurement teams to resolve issues efficiently.
  • Assist in preparing technical reports, analyses, evaluations, and presentations.
  • Coordinate data retrieval, processing, and distribution for cross-departmental use.
  • Identify opportunities to improve systems and processes, including leveraging AI technologies.
  • Maintain high accuracy and attention to detail in all reporting and data management activities.
  • This role is primarily office-based; however, occasional travel to field locations may be required.

Qualifications:
  • Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience required; Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Engineering Technology, or a related technical field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of oil and gas industry experience preferred, including exposure to water midstream, production, pipeline, regulatory, completion, and drilling operations.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively across all organizational levels, including senior leadership and vendors.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Team-oriented mindset with strong collaboration skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Experience with Power BI, Perygee, Enverus/B3, and AI tools preferred.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities.
  • High level of integrity, accountability, and ownership of work.
  • Ability to prepare clear, concise reports and maintain accurate records.
  • Valid driver’s license.
Physical Requirements:
  • Occasional standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
  • Ability to lift and carry office materials up to 15–25 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to travel to field or office locations as needed.
